About Dry Needling

Dry Needling involves inserting very fine needles at specific points of the body depending upon your condition and the area of pain. The number of needles used will vary subject to your symptoms, location and results.

Through stimulation of the nerves in skin and muscle, Dry Needling can produce a variety of effects. We know that it increases the body's release of natural painkillers - endorphin and serotonin - in the pain pathways of both the spinal cord and the brain which modifies the way pain signals are received.

Typical conditions where our practitioners may recommend Dry Needling include pain relief associated with musculoskeletal pain such as:

  • back, shoulder, neck and leg pain

  • trapped nerves

  • chronic muscle strains

  • sports injuries

  • various kinds of arthritic and rheumatic pain.
